Sorensen and Caldon is locally owned and based. We use the best local tradespeople and suppliers whenever possible.


John Caldon

Director

John moved from Wagga Wagga NSW to Taree in 1979 finishing off a six year stint with Masterton Homes Mid North Coast.

1987 after building some 400 New Homes for Masterton’s John started up Sorensen & Caldon. It was his aim to construct better than average quality homes that gave clients choice of design & inclusions.

Since 1988 the company averaged around 35 new homes per year which tallies to something just short of 1000 new homes in the Taree Port Macquarie area.

John’s main role has been client relations, estimating and growing the business as well as first hand work helping clients design their dream homes.

In 2005 Adam Ferris joined John in the Business and a new direction commenced. From 2006 our main goal was to build High End Quality homes of all sizes for the client who is quality conscious.

Since starting in the building industry John has designed and constructed small, medium & very large quality homes, multiple unit developments as well as commercial and industrial buildings.

In addition to this he has overseen the total refurbishment of several Heritage Homesteads & Commercial Premises.

Whilst out of necessity his role has been one of Financial Manager & Construction Estimator his skills in design that have been honed over the last 30 years have been available to all our clients. It is this depth of experience that makes the difference.

Adam Ferris

Director

Adam has been involved with Sorensen & Caldon since 1997 where he completed his Carpentry & joinery Apprenticeship.

He continued as a trade’s qualified Carpenter for the business until 2001 when he became Project Manager in conjunction with HIH Insurance to oversee the completion of 45 Unfinished homes in Wollongong.

In 2003 Adam completed his Certificate 4 in Residential Construction with the Highest Pass in the State. The same year he was also awarded the Chapter Presidents Medal from the Australian Institute of Building.

Adam obtained his Full Builders Licence in 2003.

In 2005 Adam took on the role of Construction Manager for Sorensen & Caldon. The same year Adam became a Director of Sorensen & Caldon Pty Ltd.

Adam’s Current role within the business is to oversee sales, site supervision, construction & Administration. He currently co-ordinates approximately 80 Tradesman on a daily basis.

Brad Caldon

Operations Management

Brad has been a part of Sorensen and Caldon since he started as an Apprentice Carpenter in 2009. He has since worked his way up to become the Operations Manager which involves coordination of trades, client liaising, job scheduling, materials quantifying and general residential design finalisation. Brad previous background before joining the Sorensen and Caldon team involved experience in Commercial Construction site based administration, contracts administration and site based engineering roles on large scale government health projects.

He is currently nearing completion of his Bachelor of Construction Management Building Honours BConMan(bldg)(Hons) degree at the University of Newcastle.

Kylie Caldon

Sales

Kylie is based in Sorensen and Caldon Port Macquarie Display Home and is our first point of call for all sales enquiries.
She is currently on Maternity Leave.

Julie Rowe

Office Administration/ Client Liaison

Julie has been a part of the Sorensen & Caldon team for over 17 years. Heavily involved in the day to day office operations and financial reporting of the business. Point of contact for our clients assisting them throughout the building process.

Julie holds an Associate Diploma of Accounting

Kerrie Martin

Administration/ Client Liaison

Kerrie joined the Sorensen & Caldon team in 2014 after working in the Tourism & Finance industries.

She assists Julie in day to day operations and accounts payable/receivable. A point of contact for our clients assisting them throughout the building process.

Kerrie holds a Diploma in Tourism, Certificate III in Office Admin & Certificate III in Finance & Mortgage Broking

Phil Shack

Sales Consultant

Phil has over 43 years’ experience in Sales & Marketing of Building Products to the Housing Industry. With 12 years dedicated to the New Housing Sales Sector as a Sales Manager.

Phil has been with Sorensen & Caldon since 2012 as a Sales Consultant.
